The Orchard Hope School Project is one that runs throughout China. Schools are built in poor areas and sponsored by companies or individuals.
Orchard International sponsors a Hope School located near Guiyang in Guizhou Province. Located in the southeast, Guizhou is one of China's poorest provinces.
Most local people make a living by farming and herding cattle. Many children could never before attend school because their families are so poor.
The Orchard Hope School has close to 300 students enrolled, studying in grades 1 through 6. The boys and girls range in age from 3 to 17 years.
A lunch program has been set up to meet the daily nutritional needs of the children. The lunch program ensures that each child in the village has at least one hot meal each day.
The Orchard Hope School offers all children an opportunity to learn in a positive environment. We are proud of our contribution to the school and look forward to seeing what the children are able to achieve in the future.
